North American teammates Adrian Kunzle and Kevin Madsen aim for continued success with Ligier, now behind the wheel of the brand-new 650-horsepower Ligier JS2 RS at the Michelin 12H of Nürburgring.
NÜRBURGRING, Germany — Accomplished North American drivers Adrian Kunzle and Kevin Madsen are set to make their debut in the all-new Ligier JS2 RS this weekend, taking on the Michelin 12H of Nürburgring with Keo Racing in the high powered GTX class.
The event marks another milestone in what has been an impressive run of success for the duo across multiple championships and endurance racing formats.
Kunzle and Madsen earned their first overall victory in the Creventic 24H Series in 2025, capturing top honors at the Apex Sebring 10 Hour while driving the Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3. They carried that momentum into 2026 with another standout performance, claiming GT4 class victory together at the prestigious Bathurst 12 Hour.
The pair have also established themselves as championship contenders in the World Racing League, spending much of the 2026 season leading the national championship aboard the STAK Racing Ligier JS2R. Their success with Ligier machinery now continues as they step into the manufacturer’s latest GT platform—the 650-horsepower Ligier JS2 RS—for one of endurance racing’s most iconic venues, the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit.
For Kunzle, the event also adds another chapter to an already successful relationship with Ligier. In addition to his WRL campaign, he was well known for competing in VP Racing SportsCar Challenge competition in the Ligier JSP320 prototype.
“I’m very excited to be racing in the Michelin 12H Nürburgring, and in the new Ligier JS2 RS. The JS2R has been such a great car in the WRL series this year, and the RS promises to be even more fun to drive. Thanks to Keo Racing and Ligier for making this happen. I can’t wait to drive such a storied track for the first time.”

For Madsen, the Nürburgring debut with Keo Racing carries additional significance. The driver, who is from Danish lineage, joins a Danish team while continuing a long and successful partnership with Ligier, highlighted by his 2023 European championship-winning campaign in the Ligier JSP4 and his 2024 American championship in the Ligier JS2R.
“Big thanks to Kim and the team from Keo Racing. Coming from Danish roots, it’s very special to be driving for a Danish team. Also a big thanks to my friends at Ligier. I’ve driven a lot of their cars with strong results over the years, and this Ligier JS2 RS is an absolute beast that leaves you with a smile from ear to ear. Excited to see what we can do out here in the Eifel together.”
— Kevin Madsen
The Michelin 12H of Nürburgring presents another opportunity for the accomplished pairing to add to an already impressive résumé. It also serves as one of the first major endurance outings for Ligier’s all-new JS2 RS, a significant evolution of the championship-winning JS2R.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 producing approximately 650 horsepower, the JS2 RS delivers nearly twice the power of its predecessor while incorporating extensive aerodynamic development, upgraded suspension geometry, larger brakes, and enhanced cooling systems designed specifically for professional endurance competition. The car features an updated sequential transmission by Sadev, Motec motorsport electronics package, and a refined cockpit aimed at improving both driver comfort and performance over long-distance races.
With proven endurance success, extensive experience in Ligier machinery, and one of the most exciting new GT race cars making its competition debut, Kunzle and Madsen will look to challenge for GTX class honors while helping showcase the capabilities of the new Ligier JS2 RS on one of Europe’s most legendary circuits.
