It Takes a Team
The best in the business. Meet a few of our key team members below.

CEO
Brett Madsen
Brett is a motorsports enthusiast and driver primarily known for his real life involvement in racing as well as in the sim world. He has founded racing series and led multiple automotive related companies.

Head Coach
Ricky Downton
Ricky began in karting, Formula SAE, FWD Hondas, BMWs, and Spec Miata, and supported IMSA teams with shakedown and setup work to optimize performance. Since 2008, Ricky has coached for multiple OEMs as an instructor, product planner, and development driver. At the Porsche Experience Center LA, he spent eight years as lead trainer, Business Development Lead, and Assistant Chief Instructor. For Ricky, driving isn’t just a passion—it’s an essential need. He’s dedicated to helping professionals and enthusiasts elevate their skills while keeping the fun alive during the learning process.

Strategist / Coach
Mike Kang
Mike has spent his career making fast cars slightly faster and convincing drivers that his pit stop strategy was their idea all along. Known in the paddock for turning chaos into spreadsheets and gut instincts into lap time, Mike has engineered victories, salvaged disasters, and occasionally remembered to eat lunch. When not at the track, he’s rumored to enjoy “relaxing,” though no one has ever actually seen him do it.

Coach
Regan Steedman
Regan has spent the last 17 years in the automotive industry. Her passion steamed from a young age with a Porsche road-racing background. Motorsports has been the constant in her career as a precision driver and driving instructor. Her skills are not limited to driving, she is an event coordinator creating over the top automotive events and cross country car rallies. Throughout the years she has worked with some of the top automotive brands including but not limited to Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Koenigsegg and Bugatti.

Chief Spotter
J.D. Ellis
Starting with karts on local dirt tracks over 40 years ago, J.D. progressed into racing in SCCA and instructing at NASA events. That led to a now-nearly 20 year career working, leading, and developing training, marketing, testing, and press events for nearly every major automotive manufacturer. Now, that passion, precision, focus, and experience drives J.D. to excel as a race and championship-winning spotter with Madsen Motorsports' clients in the IMSA WeatherTech series, Lamborghini Super Trofeo, World Racing League, and more.

Spotter
Avery Stuckart
Avery has turned a lifelong passion for racing into a dual career behind the wheel and atop the spotter’s stand. On track, he successfully campaigns both a vintage Corvette and a Spec Miata, sharpening his racecraft across two very different but equally demanding disciplines.
That firsthand experience gives Avery a unique edge as a spotter for Madsen Motorsports clients. He understands the rhythm, pressure, and split-second decision-making drivers face because he lives it himself. Calm, clear, and precise on the radio, Avery translates years of seat time into the strategic guidance his drivers rely on to perform at their best.
