Veteran Driving Duo of Adrian Kunzle and Kevin Madsen Commit to the Majority of the 2026 World Racing League Season in the Number 678 Ligier JS2R
Eagles Canyon Raceway — STAK Racing with Rapscallion continues to build momentum heading into the 2026 World Racing League (WRL) season with the return of key partners and drivers. The latest announcement includes Adrian Kunzle, as well as coach and co-driver
Kevin Madsen, signing on for the majority of races within the WRL calendar. This news comes on the heels of the team kicking off their 2nd season with their 2nd Liger JS2R.
Kunzle returns to the STAK Racing with Rapscallion program after last year's pole position and 2nd place finish in GTO class at High Plains Raceway and double 4th place finishes at
Utah Motorsports Campus. The British driver living stateside had a strong 2025 season elsewhere as well. Kunzle displayed some of the best results of his career including two SRO GT2 poles and wins at Long Beach Street Circuit, a Lamborghini Super Trofeo win at Laguna Seca and a GT3 maiden victory with Turner Motorsport and co-driver Kevin Madsen at Sebring. The WRL season-opening event at Eagles Canyon Raceway provides the first opportunity to build on those successes while adapting back to the Ligier JS2R GTO car.
“Really pumped to partner with STAK Racing, Rapscallion and Ligier for a second, more in-depth season in WRL,” said Adrian Kunzle. “Eagles Canyon is a great track, and I’m excited to start the season with a plan to go after the Midwest Championship.”
Behind the scenes, the off-season has been marked by sustained development and collaboration across the entire STAK Racing with Rapscallion organization. With advice from 2023 Ligier European Series Prototype Class Champion, Kevin Madsen, as well as other industry professionals, the team has continued refining both car performance and driver execution. This builds on the strong foundation established in 2025.
“A lot of time and energy was spent in the past couple months by many great folks in the shop, and from near and far, to improve and build up this program,” said Kevin Madsen. “It’s still progressing, and I’m excited that we finally get back to the fun part—racing on track in these Ligier JS2R race cars. They are such a blast! It wouldn’t be as fun if I didn’t get to share the cars and paddock with my good buddies including talented co-drivers Adrian, Tim, Ken and a few others we’ll soon announce.”
With a deepened driver lineup, continued technical evolution of the Ligier JS2R to match the WRL ruleset, and a strong sense of camaraderie throughout their racing stable, STAK Racing with Rapscallion enters the 2026 WRL season poised to convert preparation into performance. Team Principal at Rapscallion Motorsports, Doug Vaughan, had the following to say.
“It’s been a busy offseason and now it’s time to showcase what we’ve been working on for the STAK Racing program. Firstly, I’d like to thank Kevin for his expertise. The guy won the first championship in a Ligier JS2R stateside as well as the first race win in the U.S. for the JSP4 prototype. He’s been a big help both on and off the track. Ligier Automotive both in Carolina and France have also been a huge help as we push the performance envelope of the cars further. And of course a special thank you to all the guys working tirelessly here at the Rapscallion Motorsports shop at MSR Cresson and at the tracks each race weekend.
